About
My name is Ramsey Sayah. I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 20 years, I’m a Master Stylist and founder of the Texture brand.
I started Texture with a dream and vision to create a salon culture that was different from any other hair salon in Ottawa. I wanted to create an atmosphere free of barriers.
Our shop is set up as a one room show, free from the restrictions of walls. The design is intended to create a working environment where our Stylists can be creative and share their passion with everyone around them.
Educating our Stylists and giving them opportunities to grow is a top priority. I challenge the hell out of my staff, in order to pull the best out of them. That is why they succeed in my salon – I pull it out of them.
This is what it takes to build a successful brand that will withstand the test of time – a vision, being able to adapt, hard work, dedication and surrounding yourself with the right people.
I opened my first salon Texture Hair Salon in 2000 and ten years later I opened Texture Hair Boutique.
When you become a business owner, you become a person that wears many hats.
And a good business owner is someone who can adapt and make difficult decisions as the moments arise.
Covid-19 has had a major impact on all of us – impacting millions of people and businesses – including my own.
In May 2020, I made the difficult decision to close my shop in the downtown core after 20 years.
But all my life, no matter what obstacles I have faced, I have always landed on my feet.
Me and my team, have come back stronger and we will continue to grow the Texture brand, like we have done for the past two decades.
Dear Hairdresser is a way to share what I’ve learned and leave a mark on the industry.
I am very proud of my career to date, but there is still so much more to learn and do.
In addition to working in the salon, I’ve worked as a columnist, on television sets and competed in several hair competitions.
Even though my clientele list includes actors, athletes and politicians – my philosophy is to treat every guest that walks into our salon like a celebrity.
I have traveled all around the world working with the top brands in the beauty industry including L’Oréal Professionnel and Wella Professionals.
Over the last two decades I’ve worked hard to gain the respect of my peers – through my passion, leadership and hairdressing skills. I have a passion for what I do and believe that this profession is always undergoing exciting and new changes.
