In my post Look Good, Feel Good, I wrote about how I help guests choose the right look. I’ve been a hair stylist for over 20 years – through experience and training – I know right away which hairstyle will suit my guest and compliment their facial features. But, I think it’s important for people to understand why a certain haircut will look good on them.
Over the next few weeks I will talk about some different faces shapes and which hairstyles will highlight the features and cover the flaws of each.
Diamond Faces: Your cheekbones are the widest part of your face with a narrow forehead and chin.
Pick hairstyles that will show off your cheekbone structure – side parts with big waves, chin length bob, a haircut with layers and hairstyles that can be pulled back behind the ear.
You want to avoid making your face look too narrow. Stay away from hairstyles that hide your face with too much hair – like long or heavy bangs, as well as, hairstyles that add too much volume at the crown. Since you have prominent cheekbones, stay away from hairstyles that add too much volume to the sides of your face.
