A little while ago I wrote a post called – The Power of WordsIt is such a good topic – I wanted to write more.

Words can mean so much.

One of my mentors is Albert Einstein – he was a theoretical physicist and one of the great minds of the 20th century.

There is a quote from him I love – If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.

It makes you think – doesn’t it?

I have had so many people tell me that when they read my posts – it’s like I am talking to them. They aren’t long reads – I think less is more when it comes to writing.

Why?

People have no attention span anymore.

In 2015 Microsoft did a study — the average human attention span was 8 seconds in 2013, falling 4 seconds from the 12 second average in 2000, putting humans just 1 second below goldfish.

What can you do in 8 seconds? Not much.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone – and they just have so much to say that they go on and on.

Some call it passion – some say that it’s not knowing about the art of a good conversation.

I don’t know about you – but I just tune out.

When it comes to articles – if they are too long – my mind drifts. The message of the author gets lost in the words.

Knowing what you want.

Have you ever gone into a salon and had difficulty explaining to your stylist what you want? There are so many hair terms – you see them in magazines and on social media – ombre, balayage, ecaille.

Communication is key.

I get all kinds of clients. My job is to help them choose a style and color that makes sense for their hair texture, eye color, skin tone and life style. I need to take complicated hair terms and explain them ‘simply’ – so they ‘understand’ what their hairstyle will look like.

To go back to Einstein’s quote – I understand hair – well. Very well.

When it comes to my blog, I write about things I love – things that I believe in – I don’t need to write a novel.

I like to keep it short and sweet.

Just like this post – word count 368.
