Pioneer.
Prince was a true artist.
He sold millions of albums, won awards, was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – he was and will always be one of the greatest artists of all time.
But what made him a true artist – I think – is that he made his own rules.
He believed in the art he created – whether it was his music or unique style.
He didn’t follow the trends he made them.
People were drawn to him – fans – other artists.
Why?
I think it was for two reasons.
The most obvious one is that – he was talented – so talented. The other reason – he lived free.
Freedom.
Something we all want – but sometimes either don’t have the choice or courage to do. We might do things for the wrong reasons – out of fear, to make other people happy – we let other people dictate our lives.
He didn’t and people envied him for that.
Rest in peace Prince. The world has lost a true artist.
